Company Profile
Aliantiz is
a mobile-Internet software editor focused on the
Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) market. Aliantiz
was founded in 2003 by CEO Thierry Zucchi, a
former program manager at Microsoft in the US,
and is headquartered in Paris, France. Aliantiz
is a privately held company.
The FMC market
Fixed Mobile Convergence is
leading enterprise users and consumers alike
towards using a single (mobile) terminal to
access voice as well as web/data applications
through any locally available radio network (WiFi/WiMAX,
Cellular).
The emergence of FMC is already
visible on the market, particularly with the
success of Smartphones to access both voice and
Internet applications and with the increasing
availability of dual-mode (GSM/WiFi) handsets.
Powered by the rapid growth of 3G
mobile networks, Wireless LAN, VoIP and
broadband web/data applications, the FMC market
is expected to reach 200M subscribers in 2012.
FMC market needs
Today’s primary driver for
adoption of FMC services, particularly in the
enterprise, is mobile communication cost saving
enabled by the routing of calls through WiFi/Internet
as an alternative to cellular routes. Beyond
this initial cost-cutting argument, a very
sensitive point in a shrinking economy, the
convenience of using one single mobile terminal
for all types of communications is expected to
lead to important gains of productivity of
mobile workers and greater usage of mobile
services by consumers.
